It’s a hot and tiring start to May, and I’m grateful to have finally got to grips with the soil preparation and barley sowing.
The hops are about to leap into life and I head to the continent to find out how a social enterprise and Dutch brewery use rainwater to make beer.
How hard is it to brew a beer from scratch?
Throughout 2017 I’m going to find out if it is possible to grow, collect and process all of the ingredients needed to make a beer and you can follow my journey.
I’ll be writing, photographing and documenting all of it, culminating in a 10 week podcast that will begin in September. There are a fair number of challenges to overcome and I’m going to need some help from friends old and new, but it’s going to be a lot of fun – I hope you’ll join me.
